WEST ORANGE, NJ - Essex County high school and college students will present "Cabaret for a Cause" on August 25 to raise money for victims of both the Boston bombings and the Oklahoma tornadoes.

"Cabaret for a Cause" is an original musical revue that will feature 30 young performers singing a wide array of music, including pop, rock, and classic musical theater songs that exemplify transitioning from adolescence into adulthood and the passion to change the world.

“We wanted to find a way to use our music to help,” explains Mitchell Epstein, the show’s 16-year-old producer/director from North Caldwell. “This is our chance to do that, not only by entertaining an audience, but encouraging them to join us in reaching out to those who can use our help.”

Featured performers include Angelika Anastasio, Chris Bailey, Keenan Buckley, Marisa Budnick, Adam Cantor, Christopher Cherry, Kyle Elphick, Michael Ferlita, Davis Lemley, Ethan Lynch, Jessica Markovich, Rosa Martinez, Sarah Mason, Giovanni Murro, Eric Najimian, Michael Nigro, Rachel Pedinoff, Victoria Prasad, J. Eric Roper, Brittany Santos, Kelly Scheper, Lina Smorra, Jasmine Taylor, Jackie Thomas, Katie Wells, Amanda Whiteley, and Andrea Wright.

The event is made possible with support from ASong4Life, Elefante Music of New Providence, Pleasantdale Church of West Orange, Congregation Agudath Israel of Caldwell, Christ Church of Short Hills, and the JCC MetroWest of West Orange.

The Production team includes Vocal Instructor Adrienne Blossey, Stage Manager Jackie Leibowitz, Assistant Director Josh Kopen and Accompanist Donna Mateyka.
