On July 24, 2012, Det. Tierney and Det. Duffy responded to Tomahawk Lake water park for a report of a burglary.  When they arrived, they were informed by an employee that a trailer containing alcoholic beverages was forced open and some of the alcoholic beverages were stolen.  Blood was found at the scene and the evidence was obtained so that a DNA test could be performed on the blood.  Several months later, the DNA results came back and the blood at the scene of the burglary was found to match that of Jamie P. Silva of Byram Twp.  Silva was consequently charged with Burglary, Theft and Criminal Mischief.  Silva's whereabouts are currently unknown.  Anyone with information regarding Silva's location is asked to please call Det. Tierney at the Byram Twp. Police Department, 973-347-4008.

On 3-10-13, a Byram Twp. Police Officer observed a vehicle traveling 55 mph in a 45 mph zone on Rt. 206 N.  The vehicle also failed to maintain its lane.  A motor vehicle stop was initiated and while speaking to the driver of the vehicle, Erik A. Ross of Netcong, the officer observed drug paraphernalia in the vehicle.  A search of the vehicle was conducted and during the search, an empty bag of suspected heroin was found along with a container of urine which had a hand warmer taped to the outside of it.  Ross was placed under arrest and transported to the station for processing.  Ross was charged with the following and released pending a mandatory Byram Twp. Municipal Court date:  Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of a Device Used to Defraud the Administration of a Drug Test and Failure to Maintain Lane.
