Businesses and Individuals to be Honored at the Madison Chamber of Commerce Annual Awards Dinner on June 11

MADISON, NJ - The Madison Chamber of Commerce will hold its Annual Awards Dinner on Tuesday, June 11, 2013, 6:30-10:30pm at Hamilton Park Hotel & Conference Center, 175 Park Avenue, Florham Park.
The evening will include a buffet style dinner, cash bar, door prizes and an awards ceremony to be held in the Ambassador Ballroom. Weather permitting the cocktail hour will be held in the courtyard garden.
Awards to be given will include the Jack Morris Memorial Scholarship Award, various Business Improvement Awards, Community Service Awards and the Extra Mile Award.
The scholarship award was designed for graduating student(s) who plan to continue their higher education in the field of commerce. Recipients will be chosen based on their personal achievement, letters of reference and academic performance.
The business improvement awards will honor Cambridge Street Papers, 7 Waverly Pl.; TJ Service Center, 31 Kings Rd.; Walgreens, 122 Main St., Nicky’s Firehouse Family Restaurant, 15 Central Ave and the Lincoln Place Project organization. The Chamber’s Appreciation Award is being presented to Rocco Iossa, Rocco’s Tuscany Grill, 30 Cook Ave.
The community service awards will honor Investors Bank, 16 Waverly Pl. and Salvatore Minardi, owner, Salvatore Minardi Salon, 8 Park Ave. The recipient of the Distinguished Service Award will honor Judy Mullins, owner, Poor Herbie’s, 13 Waverly Pl.
The Chamber will present its Hall of Fame Award this year to Peter Daniele, Rose City Collision, 291 Main St.
This year will also honor those individuals who are chosen by the community to receive the Extra Mile Award. The Extra Mile Award rewards Madison employees and business owners who provide outstanding customer service.
“These individuals are recognized for that extra-special friendly and knowledgeable service, which truly makes a difference in the customer’s shopping experience”, said Chamber executive director, Karen Meyer. Karen also is co-owner of Sprouts Consignment, 250 Main St.
“These businesses and individuals are being honored for their dedication and support of Madison businesses and the community as a whole.” said Ken Toumey, President of the Madison Chamber of Commerce. “This fun event allows us to say Thank you and give recognition to those who make a difference”.
