Burglaries Reported in Westfield, Teens Caught with Drugs

June 17, 2014 2:54 p.m.

Report of a stolen iPhone, valued at $500.00, from a business in the 400 block of Central Avenue.

June 17, 2014 5:54 p.m.

Report of a fraud filed by a victim in the 400 block of Hort Street. Actor(s) unknown attempted to charge $155.00 to the ATM card of the victim.

June 17, 2014 6:27 p.m.

Tyrone Oritheneer, 30, of Elizabeth was arrested on an outstanding traffic warrant ($1,257.00) out of the Westfield Municipal Court pursuant to a prisoner drop off. Oritheneer was processed and released on posted bail.

June 18, 2014 2:33 p.m.

Jamil Simmons, 20, of Newark was arrested on an outstanding criminal warrant ($750.00) out of the Westfield Municipal Court pursuant to a prisoner pick up. Simmons was transported to Headquarters, processed and held in lieu of bail.

June 18, 2014 11:05 p.m.

A red/silver colored Bank of America debit card was found by an anonymous party in the rear parking lot of 425 E. Broad Street. The card was placed into the Westfield Police Department evidence locker.

June 17, 2014 8:24 p.m.

Officers arrested a 15-year-old juvenile from Fanwood for underage possession of alcoholic beverages and possession of CDS/marijuana pursuant to an investigation in the 400 block of E. Broad Street. Subject was transported to the hospital for evaluation and then transferred over to a responsible adult.

June 18, 2014 8:08 p.m.

A resident in the 0-100 block of Bennett Place reports a burglary to their residence on June 18, 2014 between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. There were no signs of forced entry. All entry doors in front of the residence were standing open. Numerous rooms throughout the residence were ransacked, but nothing appears to be missing at this time. There are no witnesses at this time.

June 19, 2014 2:30 p.m.

Report of an attempted burglary in the 800 block of W. South Avenue. Victim reported that between 3:30 p.m. on 06/17/14 and the date and time of this report, suspect(s) unknown attempted to gain entry to the residence by prying open the wooden entry door to the apartment.

June 19, 2014 5:48 p.m.

Officers arrested a 16-year-old male juvenile from Westfield for possession of CDS/marijuana under 50 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia pursuant to an investigation in the 1000 block of E. Broad Street. Subject was transported to Headquarters, processed and released to respective parent.

June 19, 2014 8:22 p.m.

A resident in the 100 block of Dickson Drive reports a theft of their Xbox 360 console from their residence between 8:00 p.m. on 06/14/2014 and 7:00 p.m. on 06/19/2014. The actor(s) only removed the game console, leaving the power cord and controllers at the residence. The approximate value of the theft is $350.00.

June 20, 2014 1:32 a.m.

Ronald J. Neiswenter, 50, of Westfield was arrested on an outstanding traffic warrant ($500.00) out of the Westfield Municipal Court pursuant to a motor vehicle stop in the 500 block of Westfield Avenue. Neiswenter was transported to Headquarters, processed and released on posted bail.

June 22, 2014 1:27 a.m.

After being stopped for a motor vehicle violation, Ryan Jordan, 27, of Paterson was arrested on an outstanding Scotch Plains warrant. Jordan was processed and released after posting bail.

June 22, 2014 11:02 p.m.

While on patrol, a Westfield police officer noticed a vehicle on the side of the road with its tail lights blinking. Upon approaching the vehicle is observed Kevin Packer, 18, of Kenilworth smoking marijuana in the vehicle. Parker was arrested, processed and released on his own recognizance.

June 23, 2014 7:46 p.m.

Coco Barker, 32, of Jersey City was arrested on an outstanding Westfield warrant. Barker was processed and released after posting $303.00 bail.
