Broadway Lane Residence in Fairfield Destroyed by Fire

FAIRFIELD, NJ - Thursday night after midnight, reports came into the West Essex TAP regarding a fire which was occurring at 54 Broadway Lane, Fairfield.

Deputy Chief Anthony Manna of the Fairfield Police Department has now issued a statement regarding the occurrence:
On March 21, 2013 at 11:26 P.M., the Fairfield Police Department received a 9-1-1 call reporting a house fire at 54 Broadway Lane.
First responding officers found a heavy smoke condition along with the rear of the residence fully involved in fire. Fire departments from Fairfield, Verona, North Caldwell, West Caldwell and Pine Brook responded to extinguish the fire and assist with operations. In addition, the West Essex First Aid Squad also responded.
Fairfield Fire Department Chief Andrew Williams declared the fire under control at approximately 12:40 A.M. at which time overhaul operations were commencing. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Fairfield Fire Prevention Bureau. No serious injuries were reported. The residence was unoccupied at the time of the incident.
