Troop 68 completed another successful Watchung Mountain Klondike Derby sled race, and was the only Troop to place two sleds in the top ten. The regional boy scout competition draws troops from all over northern New Jersey.
Scouts are required to pull a sled and participate in completions such as fire building, tomahawk throwing, winter survival skills, cooking and first aid.
Coming off a first place finish in 2013, Troop 68 decided to enter two sleds for the first time. The Troop 68 Blade Runners finished fourth overall and the Troop 68 Thunderhwaks, 7th overall.
The scouts braved the elements and turned in a great performance while having a great time.
