Borough of North Plainfield Clean Community Day

Wednesday, April 30, 2014 • 1:04pm

Everyone is invited to take part in the Eighth Annual Clean Community Day sponsored by the North Plainfield Forum and the Borough of North Plainfield on May 3, 2014.  This day will be an opportunity to meet neighbors, make friends and work together to clean several areas in our community in commemoration of Earth Day.

The day begins with registration at 8:30 AM at the North Plainfield Community Center at 614 Greenbrook Road and then moves to assigned areas to be cleaned for an hour or more until 1 p.m.  Residents are welcome to organize a crew or come on their own.  All civic groups and organizations are encouraged to participate!  Children are welcome and encouraged to take part in Clean Community Day, but must be at least 7 years old and be accompanied by an adult.

Those helping are asked to wear appropriate work clothes, shoes or boots, and gloves.  Bring a rake if possible.  Other supplies will be provided by the borough.  T-shirts will be given to volunteers at registration.

A picnic style lunch will be served to all volunteers on the Community Center Side Lawn at the end of the work day.

For more information and to RSVP, please call Mayor Michael Giiordano’s Office at (908) 769-2902.
