Are you eagerly anticipating your next read, but a little overwhelmed by all of the possibilities?  Looking for the perfect selection for your book club?  Wondering who else writes books like those by your favorite author?  Let our electronic resources help you to narrow down your choice and enrich your reading experience.

The Scotch Plains Public Library’s website offers access to Book Club Reading Guides, Links for Booklovers, Online Booksellers and the wonderful resource NoveList, full of information and suggestions for both children and adults.  These can all be accessed by visiting the Resources page on our website www.scotlib.org  then scrolling down to select the Popular Reading, Book Clubs and Read-Alikes link.  If prompted, enter your SPPL card number.

We are also pleased to offer Scotch Plains cardholders two new exciting services for children:

BookFlix is an electronic service that offers children Scholastic’s award-winning animated story books and non-fiction electronic books, with added features such as author biographies, interactive educational games and safe, age-appropriate web links.  To get started, visit the Children’s page on our website, click the BookFlix icon, and then enter your SPPL card number.

TrueFlix is an electronic service that brings books to life.  It features electronic versions of Scholastic’s award-winning True Books series, paired with topical videos, project ideas, age-appropriate web links, and interactive educational games.  To get started, visit the Children’s page on our website, click the TrueFlix icon, and then enter your SPPL card number.
