Monday, August 30, 2010 • 4:01am
Temple B'nai Abraham Social Action Committee is conducting a children's book drive of new or gently-used books, to be donated to the social agencies of Newark Now and Newark Emergency Services for Families ( NESF). The collection, which will be going on until the end of February, does not include comic or coloring books , only gently used or new books for children from very young to teens—hardcover or soft cover.
The mission of Newark Now is to equip and empower Newark residents with the tools and resources to transform their communities through neighborhood associations, tenant organizations and community groups. Newark Now supports the work of more than 20 grassroots organizations throughout the city of Newark For over 30 years, NESF, a not-for-profit organization, has been serving the Greater Essex County community. NESF is committed to providing quality services to individuals and families who need assistance with emergency food, clothing, shelter, utilities, rent, and other basic necessities during times of crisis.
