Berkeley Hts Scout Leader Receives Silver Beaver Award

Bill Schulz of Berkeley Heights received the Silver Beaver Award, one of Scouting’s highest honors, at the Patriots’ Path Council, Boy Scouts of America annual meeting held on Feb. 27, 2013.
The Silver Beaver Award is the council-level distinguished service award of the Boy Scouts of America. Recipients of this award are registered adult leaders who have made an impact on the lives of youth through service given to the council. The Silver Beaver is an award given to those who implement the Scouting program and perform community service through hard work, self sacrifice, dedication, and many years of service.
Schulz is an Eagle Scout and has served as an adult leader for the past 15 years, most recently as the Eagle Advisor of Boy Scout troop 368 in Berkeley Heights. He is past Health & Safety chair and current Advancement chair for the Watchung Mountain District, where he is also a Merit Badge counselor and a Unit Commissioner. He is also involved in various capacities with the BSA Patriots’ Path Council which serves youth in Morris, Somerset, Sussex, Union and parts of Middlesex counties. Bill is employed in the Enterprise Technology Center at Drew University.
