On Monday, October 8, 2012 at 12:37 pm, Ptl. Jason Massimino arrested Joseph Riegler, 50, of Barnegat.  Officers responded to a South Sherman Avenue residence after receiving a report of an unwanted person banging on the reporting parties’ front door.  Riegler left the area prior to police arrival, but was located a short distance away.  He was placed under arrest after a warrant check which revealed that Union County held a no bail warrant for his arrest.  Riegler was brought to HQ, processed and lodged in the Union County Jail.

On Wednesday, October 10, 2012 Ptl. Nicholas Franks responded to a Ridge Drive residence to investigate a reported theft.  The investigation revealed that a 2006 Volvo had been entered during the overnight hours by the actor smashing the front driver’s side window.  A GPS unit, a radio head unit and sunglasses were taken.  The items were valued at $999.00.  The matter has been referred to the Investigations Division.

On Thursday, October 11, 2012 at 2:36 am, Ptl. Ron DeSimoni arrested Raheim Williams, 36, of Chambersburg PA, and Jamar Carter, 30, of Manhattan, NY.  Williams was the operator of a 2004 Mazda that was stopped on Mountain Avenue, after Ptl. DeSimoni had responded to a residential alarm in the area.  Williams could not produce a valid driver’s license and a warrant check revealed an outstanding warrant out of Harrisburg, PA for Carter.  Upon further investigation, neither individual could explain where they had come from or why they were in the area, with both exhibiting signs of nervousness.  After receiving consent to search the motor vehicle, Ptl. DeSimoni recovered a 9mm handgun in the trunk.  Both individuals were placed under arrest, brought to police headquarters and charged with unlawful possession of a weapon.  Williams was also charged with being an unlicensed driver.  Bail was set at $20,000.00 for both parties and they were given court dates to appear in Union County Superior Court.
