Beauty and the Beast Coming to New Providence High School Auditorium

On March 15, 16 and 17, the New Providence High School will proudly present Disney’s Beauty and the Beast through a special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI). The cast has been rehearsing for weeks, the sets are taking shape, and the costumes and props have been reserved.
The cast includes fifty students from New Providence High School and nine students from New Providence Middle School, Allen W. Roberts Elementary School and Salt Brook Elementary School. Another fifty students are participating either as members of the pit orchestra, under the direction of Mr. Michael Niedziejko or in the stage and technical Crew. The musical director and producer is Ms. Susan Kirkland, and set design and stage direction are provided by Mr. Craig Duke. The delightful choreography has been designed by Ms. Leslie Ditta. In addition to dressing the cast in costumes from one of the national tours of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, Mrs. Ann Lowe is busy creating unique, complementary costumes for additional characters.
The production week will begin with a Character Breakfast on Saturday, March 9th in the NPHS Cafeteria. In addition to terrific food, and craft projects, children and their parents will have the opportunity to take photos with their favorite Disney character’s from the show.
Opening night will be Friday, March 15 at 7:30 pm, and will be followed by additional shows on Saturday, March 16 at 7:30 pm and Sunday, March 17 at 3 pm. New! You can buy your tickets online.
