Bandit Shows Gun in Robbery of First Niagara Bank in Hilltown Monday Afternoon

Hilltown Township Police and the FBI are on the search for a masked bandit who robbed the First Niagara Bank in the Souderton portion of the township Monday afternoon.
Police said the armed robbery took place at the bank on the 700 block of Route 113 aroun 2:20 p.m.
The bandit entered the bank and approached a teller's window, placed a handgun on the counter and demanded cash from the drawer, police said. The teller complied with the demands, police said.
The robber is described as a white male, 5 feet 2 inches tall, wearing a batting-practice-style red Phillies cap with stars on either side of the Phillies logo, a red bandana on his face, a dark-colored jacket or sweatshirt, blue jeans and dark sneakers with white trim on the sole, police said.
The robber fled the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash on foot toward the Souderton Square Shopping Center, police said.
Authorities believe the man fled in a black 4-door vehicle southbound on Route 113.
There were no injuries in the robbery.
