CHATHAM, NJ - Bridget Ballard drove to the net and scored her third goal of the game with just 14 seconds left in overtime, lifting Chatham over Oak Knoll, 7-6, in girls lacrosse on Monday.

Maddy Bowles set up the winning goal when she scooped up a ground ball near midfield and fed it to Ballard for the tie-breaking goal.

Emily Wingate, who finished with two goals and an assist, scored with 2:51 left in regulation to make it 6-6 and force the overtime for Chatham (3-3), which has won three straight.

"It was a great team win, starting in goal with Gislina Saul, who made some huge saves," Chatham coach Hilary Renna said. "Our defense played tight, allowing only two goals in the first half and four in the second. Then our attack did a great job of making each of our possessions count. They played with a ton of composure, patience and determination."

It was a strong showing for Chatham's sophomore class. Beth Kuyk, who scored a goal, Ballard, Wingate and Saul are all classmates. Oak Knoll is 4-2.
