Monday, June 18, 2012 • 11:35am
Got a great idea for a business, but don’t know what to do with it? Know that you can offer a service, but aren’t exactly sure how to position it? Then check out the “Brainstorming Business and Marketing Connections.” meeting of the Summit/New Providence B.I.G., with two opportunities to attend on June 28 in the morning or July 9 in the evening.
Join other entrepreneurial-spirited women from the community at the regular monthly meetings of B.I.G. 10-11:30am at Twin Maples, 214 Springfield Ave., Summit on June 28, or at Color Me Mine, 438 Springfield Avenue, Summit on July 9 from 7-8:30 pm. Through this interactive meeting, B.I.G. will help you figure out what you have to offer, and who you can market it to most effectively.
“These meetings mark the first time that the morning and evening Summit/New Providence B.I.G. pods will be combined as one unit,” said Summit Resident Melanie Wilson, who has been running the successful morning group and now has taken responsibility for the evening group as well. “ Moving forward, each monthly topic will have two opportunities at which members and guests may participate, the first Monday evening of the month and the fourth Thursday morning of the month.”
B.I.G provides a non-competitive, supportive environment for women to brainstorm new ideas, consider barter opportunities, share success stories and help each other move towards their goals. The group meets face-to-face, each month focusing on a different theme. The website, www.believeinspiregrow.com was created to supplement the monthly meetings with an online business toolbox, relevant business information, resume and job search help, discounts for members, and forums for business ideas. The website is also designed to showcase the businesses of B.I.G.’s members.
Wilson added, “B.I.G. is where intelligent women can come together and meet others in their community. B.I.G. provides personal support, business education and networking to women in all stages of their careers, from the stay at home mom to the seasoned professional.”
