Alzheimer's Disease Talk at Summit Old Guard, January 18th

“Neurodegeneration during Alzheimer’s Disease” is the topic at the January 18th meeting of the Summit Old Guard.  Roger Knowles, Chairman of the Drew University Neuroscience Program, will speak at the New Providence Municipal Center at 10 A.M. Mr. Knowles will discuss understanding the mechanisms o Alzheimer’s Disease and the current treatment strategies that are in development or in testing.

Roger Knowles is a 1986 graduate of The United States Military Academy at West Point.  He served in the military as an air defense artillery officer in West Germany.  After completing his army service, he entered Harvard to study neuroscience.  He graduated with a PhD in 1996.  He was recruited by Drew in 1998 to start a Neuroscience Program.  He is currently head of the Biology department.  He has written in 20 publications about Alzheimer’s disease.

All area 50-plus active men are invited to attend meetings of the Summit Area Old Guard on Tuesday mornings at the New Providence Municipal Center at 360 Elkwood Avenue.  A coffee hour starts at 9:15 that is followed by a 10 AM short business meeting.
