All Ages Welcome at the NJIO Spring Strings Studio

String instruments take center stage for four consecutive Thursday evenings in May at the New Jersey Intergenerational Orchestra. Participants in the Spring Strings Studio can expect a musically enriching experience for violinists, violists, cellists and bassists. The faculty, professional musicians with years of teaching experience, will provide instruction to small groups of musicians in NJIO fashion – in a friendly and supportive environment. Players will be grouped by instrument, and the camp concludes with a performance by students and faculty. All levels are welcome!

The program was limited to cellos for the past two years. Program director Marty Steinberg is looking forward to expanding it to all strings.  With years of experience as a cello teacher and chamber and orchestral musician, Mr. Steinberg is the founder of the award winning Romanza Music, which provides music for private parties in New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania.

String players of all ages are encouraged to participate in the evening workshop. Whether you simply enjoy playing new music, are preparing for an upcoming audition or summer festival, want to raise your skill level to a new high, are ready to play a new instrument or are kick-starting an interest in an instrument that you once played, here is your opportunity to make beautiful music.

The New Jersey Intergenerational Orchestra bridges the generations through music and brings artistic excellence to our communities. A finalist for the prestigious Eisner Foundation Prize for Intergenerational Excellence, NJIO provides education and performance opportunities for people of all ages who would like to be part of an orchestra or ensemble.  Friends, families and individuals of all levels learn side by side with experienced players and professional musicians who mentor their fellow performers. Under the leadership of Artistic Director and Symphony Conductor Warren Cohen, NJIO is now recognized as a leader in intergenerational programming.

Spring String Studio begins May 8 and runs for four consecutive Thursday evenings, 7:15 – 9:15 p.m. A special discounted fee of $100 is offered for those who sign up by April 30.  The fee is $125 for those that register after April 30.
