CHATHAM TOWNSHIP, NJ - In the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, here is the latest information for residents of Chatham Township:

Charging Stations
The Chatham Club is now open from 8 AM to 5 PM and is limited to non-members for charging station and Wi-Fi access. Please be considerate of Chatham Club members while using the facility.
The Chatham Library is an alternate facility for a charging station during their nomal operating hours.
Tanglewood Mulch Center
The Tanglewood Mulch Center (off Fairmount Avenue) will be open daily
starting today from 8 AM to 3 PM until further notice for Chatham Township residents to bring yard waste and debris.
Residents are responsible for debris cleanup on their own property. We will accept storm damage debris from residents and private contractors but debris brought to the Tanglewood Center must be separated - bulk leaves separate from branches.
Road Closures
We still have many county and several local roads that are not passable due to downed trees with wires in them. Additionally, along the roads there are many trees leaning on wires or partially blocking the roadway. If you must travel, please exercise extreme caution, but it is best that residents stay home.
The Township is working cooperatively with JCPL but we cannot clear trees in roadways with wires until JCPL arrives and adresses the wires. Currently, JCPL is reporting >80% of Morris country residents are out of power and they are estimating 7-10 days for full restoration of power.
Main road closures include:
River Rd intersection and Snake Hill closed
Fairmount between Southern Blvd. and Shunpike closed
Shunpike Blvd. between Noe and Lafayette closed
Noe Ave closed
Chatham Disposal
Chatham Disposal refuse collection will resume normal pickup on Thursday, Nov.1st and Friday Nov. 2nd.
