A Special Thank You To Madeline Hein; A Randolph School Bus Driver Who Will Be Missed

On Thursday February 20th , the world lost an amazing woman. Many of you probably did not know her. She was not a celebrity or someone famous but in my world and my children’s world she was someone incredibly special.
Mrs. Madeline Hein was my children’s bus driver. Every day for the last six years we would see the # 47 bus making its way down the street. She would greet my children in the morning with a big smile, welcoming them onto her bus as if she were welcoming them into her home. She was warm and friendly, and always had a kind word to say.
Mrs. Hein’s death hit my family very hard. Maybe it was because it was so unexpected. Maybe it was because there were things I wished I had told her. Thank you Mrs. Hein for doing your job so well. Thank you for taking such great care of my children. Thank you for giving me peace of mind every day they were on your bus. Thank you for being a special part of our lives for the past six years. You will be missed and never forgotten.
It is easy to take for granted the people that we see every day. Special people that go out of their way to make sure that our children are happy and safe. I always felt that my children were in good hands, and as a parent there is nothing more important when you cannot be with them yourself.
Editors Note: Mrs. Madeline (Maddie) Hein, was a bus driver with strong ties to the Randolph community for the past 25 years. Mrs. Hein had bus runs at Center Grove, Randolph Middle School and Randolph High School. Our condolences go out to the Hein Family and all who knew Madeline.
