A New Look For Overlook Park

PATERSON, NJ - A group of volunteers have transformed a neglected section of Paterson's new national park into a pleasant spot for folks to visit.
The area around the bell monument in the park had fallen into neglect. There was that could be considered attractive about it.
But now it looks like a new place thanks to the efforts of members of the Great Falls Youth Corps and volunteers from R.D. Landscaping of Paterson. They installed patio blocks, flowers and plants.
The whole project was designed and overseen by park volunteer Joanne Wiley, while the National Park Service supplied all the materials, according to park superintendent Darren Boch. "But at the end of the day it was the community coming together to design the space, turn up the soil and set in the plantings,'' he said.
