It’s September and time to start thinking about school, autumn weather, mums and … the 7th Annual Scarecrow Stroll in downtown Cranford. For the second year, non-Cranford residents are also invited to participate but businesses, clubs and organizations must be Cranford based. This year’s Scarecrow Stroll will run October 23 through October 31.
The popular annual event, with more than 100 scarecrows on display, draws visitors from Union County, North Jersey and even New York City. “Every year, we are amazed at the talent and creativity of participants, which includes families, individuals, business owners, artists, clubs, organizations, schools and teams. It is the best combination of community and fun,” said Downtown Director Kathleen Miller Prunty. For a look at some of amazing past entries go to www.facebook.com/scarecrowstroll.
The Scarecrow Stroll is organized by the Downtown Office of Business & Economic Development as a way to bring the community and businesses together. The scarecrows are on display on every downtown street to encourage walking and a chance to discover stores and restaurants.
