34 LHS Students are Named National Merit Commended Students

LIVINGSTON, NJ – The 2014 National Merit Scholarship Program recently named 34 Livingston High School Seniors “Commended Students.”
Commended students, who all received letters of commendation for LHS principle, Mark Stern include: Francesca Agnello, Sarfraz R. Akmal, Alexa J. Altchek, Layla Behrouzian, Adam G. Brodkin, Jonathan B. Chen, Kevin M. Chen, Stanley M. Chernavsky, Stanley L. Cheung, Edward Chin, Ryan K. Eng, Alexa E. Gilbert, Ashley Kim, Christina Ko, Brian M. Lilien, Joseph R. Lilien, Sean Lu, Susan Luo, Grace Ming, William B. Nichter, Kishan Patel, Kevin W. Peng, Ankush Rakhit, Akhil Reddy, Robin Shafto, Jialiang Song, Sofia Soroka, Jennifer K. Su, Christopher C. Tseng, Sibo Wang, Sihan Wang, Karen Xu, Karlin L. Yeh and Tina T. Yin.
Stern said he was “incredibly proud to announce this academic accomplishment."
Approximately 34,000 Commended Students throughout the nation are being recognized for their exceptional academic promise demonstrated by their outstanding performance on the qualifying test used for program entry. Commended Students placed among the top five percent of more than 1.5 million students who entered the 2012 competition by taking the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT).
