The Free Summer Concert Series, which included 4 concerts at Memorial Field Park on Wednesday evenings this past July and August drew over 3000 local residents and families to enjoy great music under the stars.

For a second year the Suburban Chamber of Commerce/Berkeley Heights partnered with the Berkeley Heights Special Events Committee and the Berkeley Heights Recreation Commission to present the Free Summer Concert Series.

In addition, to business sponsorship and a table that provided concert goers with free drawings and special offers from many local businesses, the Suburban Chamber of Commerce/Berkeley Heights along with TheAlternativePress.com held a Summer Concert Series photo contest. Concert goers were asked to take photos with their smart phones or cameras and email them to editior@thealternativepress.com, then at the end of the Free Concert Series a winner was randomly chosen to receive the grand prize of a $100 gift card to Goodman's Deli & Restaurant sponsored by Goodman's and Smith Chiropractic Family Care & Sports Injury Center.

Local resident Hal Daume was the winner with a photo sent in, of he and his fellow Rotary Club members enjoying a picnic dinner at one of the free concerts. The Suburban Chamber of Commerce/Berkeley Heights is again looking forward to partnering with the Special Events Committee and the Recreation Commission in presenting the 2013 Free Summer Concert Series with lots more free drawings and another exciting offers from local businesses, including an expanded family photo contest.
